What is Lucy Loves Sitcom all about?
The purpose of this podcast is to provide a space for like-minded geeks. It's a positive place - a place to celebrate nostalgia and innovation in equal measure!
Lucy Loves Sitcom explores and analyses sitcoms, new and old, from the US and the UK. It sometimes strays into other TV series here and there too.
Basically, if you love sitcoms, media and popular culture, and enjoy picking apart all of the complexities therein, then this could be the right podcast for you!

I am Lucy Rivers, the host of Lucy Loves Sitcom. I have a particular specialism in the subject of sitcom as an early career academic. It's what I've been obsessed with since I can remember so of course I wound up studying it!
I hold a Bachelor's and a Master's in Film and Television Studies from University of East Anglia, Norwich, and am currently a postgraduate researcher writing my PhD thesis with Edge Hill University.
Now I feel driven to serve my fellow geeks (who think as deeply about TV as I do) by sharing my knowledge and insight.
Blending a mixture of humour, enthusiasm and criticism, Lucy Loves Sitcom will hopefully offer fans a place to connect on a deeper level with the TV they know and love, and build a community of like-minded listeners.
I'm on a mission to unite fans of this much-loved but undervalued genre from around the world. Episodes will be a mix of solo chat and conversations with guests. They'll vary between deep dives, theme episodes, and good old generic chats between like-minded sitcom enthusiasts!
